Pardon The Punctuation...In honor of opening day I'm sharing my famous...well famous in Sherman Oaks, California, recipe for bourbon, pecan, chocolate chip cookies. Needless to say I'm just making an excuse to drink and eat cookies as I watch our national pass time. Enjoy! P.S. I used some Eagle Rare 10 year bourbon in my cookies...good stuff.
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup of milk chocolate chips
1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup of chopped pecans
1 shot of Bourbon. Good stuff. If you wouldn't drink it don't bake with it.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and bourbon. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
3. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
